I'd really love to throw up a simple dedicated server, since I personally am not able to see any when I search. Has anyone else experienced this? I've done a fair amount of searching online, with limited success. Well, we have a solution so thanks for your time and effort Kevin.302 - 303 - Login succeeded 304 - Name : Anonymous 305 - ID : 0x24F0130C63AC9332 306 - Pad Index : 0 307 - Logged in account flags : 0x18X (EAccountFlags_LAN | EAccountFlags_Demonware | ) 308 - Current client account flags: 0x19X (EAccountFlags_Offline | EAccountFlags_LAN | EAccountFlags_Demonware | ) 309 - CAccountService::OnLogin(): Client=2661648323708752690 Result=E_SESSION_ERROR_SUCCESS 310 - 311 - Logout succeeded 312 - Name : Anonymous 313 - ID : 0x24F0130C63AC9332 314 - Pad Index : 0 315 - Logged out account flags : 0x24X (EAccountFlags_UGC | EAccountFlags_Demonware | ) 316 - Current client account flags: 0x3X (EAccountFlags_Offline | EAccountFlags_LAN | ) 317 - CAccountService::OnLogout(): Client=2661648323708752690 Reason=E_SESSION_ERROR_ACCOUNT_LOGON_DISCONNECTED Result=E_SESSION_ERROR_SUCCESS 318 - Client left (Anonymous, 0x24F0130C63AC9332, 192.168.0.105:0, PeerId: 0, Seq: 0, Data size : 0) - Session ID: 0x112D 319 - Session (0x112D) deletion succeeded 320 - CAccountService::OnSessionDeleted(): Reason=E_SESSION_ERROR_SUCCESS Result=E_SESSION_ERROR_SUCCESS Message= To enable the name service, you may just need the 137/udp port, while other ports are used for sharing files and printers and so on. The "File and Printer Sharing" service in the NeoRouter "Firewall On" service list contains 4 items. It also means you may want to plan it properly. no user logged in from that computer, nrservice will use the default ACL, which can be defined in the Configuration Explorer. If nrservice is running under the passive mode, e.g. NeoRouter ACL controls packets at port level. In fact, if I open all UDP port in outbound direction on my firewall, the NeoRouter server works and the chekport.php go to green. UDP p2p is the easiest way, TCP p2p is a little bit harder and relay mode works for any. Clients try to use NAT-Traversal to penetrate firewall and create direct connections between clients. There is not needs to open any port for clients and it will not effect clients. The basic idea is if you want to use the NetBIOS' name service, you may want to enable the 137/udp port on computers so that they can register its name using the name service. Connection types between clients can be UDP p2p, TCP p2p or relay mode. If you don't give the default user at least the "File and printer sharing" exception in the ACL list, even if another user account has the "firewall off" option for that computer selected and you login as that user that computer will not resolve computernames through netbios for the NR network.(as long as you are not connected to the NR server from the same LAN, that is why it did work when I was configuring it at the office) OK, I figured it out ,I think, these are my findings: At least I know now not to block the NETBIOS port. Maybe it needs more time.I'll test it some more. So I disabled the firewall for the domain controller, reset my passowrd to my domain password and tried again, but without luck. After that no more name resolving anymore. The following UDP Port information may be necessary to allow communication. In order to resolve this issue, it may be necessary to open communication ports on your firewall and allow exceptions. Than I changed the ACL list to only accept RDP for the computers and I changed my NR password so that it didn't match my Domain password. If a firewall is active on your computer, it may reject the necessary network connection needed for the network communication with the Brother machine. Well the strange thing is that it did work. You can also setup WINS server or DNS server in the VLAN to solve the name as well. As NetBIOS needs to broadcast messages cross the VLAN to solve the name, the speed is depending on your network environment. You can use the computer name directly in a Windows network or Linux network running Samba, as NeoRouter helps you build a VLAN and the NetBIOS will work for you to resolve the computer name. When the passive mode is enabled, the FTP client opens a connection to the server on a random port in the range you have chosen. ![]() Adding an DNS server in the Neorouter adapter prop. To use passive mode, set the minimum and maximum range of ports: /etc/nf pasvminport30000 pasvmaxport31000 You can use any port for passive FTP connections. ![]() NeoRouter :: View topic - Neorouter Client Name resolution NeoRouterÄoes the local NR client resolve the computer names (in the client list) for the client OS? If not how can I, without manualy editing my host file, resolve the NR client computers in the list? This would be verry usefull for some applications as Outlook.
